Tango Down Tactical LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates tangodowntactical.com and related sales, firearm-transfer, and training activities. This Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have.
This Policy applies to our website, checkout, customer communications, in-person transfers at our licensed premises, and training registrations. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information collected automatically.
Information you give us
- Identifiers and contact data: name, billing and shipping address, email, phone number.
- Order and account data: items purchased or reserved, order notes, transfer/pickup details.
- Payment-related data: we do not store full payment-card numbers. Card data is entered directly with our payment processor.
- Communications: emails, form submissions, training-registration details, and messages you send us.
- Firearm-transfer data (when applicable): information required to complete a lawful transfer, including identification details, ATF Form 4473 responses, and National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) or state point-of-contact results and transaction numbers.
- Training data (when applicable): course registration, certification-related information you provide, and emergency-contact information if you supply it.
- Training waiver documents applicable to the training you are taking.
Information collected automatically
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies used for cart contents, session continuity, security, and (if enabled) analytics or abandoned-cart reminders.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers on the website. If a Social Security number appears on a Form 4473, it is collected only as part of the federally required transfer record and is not stored on our website in any form.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Process orders, payments, shipments, pickups, returns, and customer service.
- Complete firearm transfers and maintain records required by the Gun Control Act, ATF regulations, and applicable state law.
- Register students for training and administer courses.
- Communicate about orders, transfers, training, and (only with appropriate consent) marketing or cart reminders.
- Detect fraud, secure the site, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect our rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not use your firearm-transfer or Form 4473 data for marketing.
3. Consent and marketing communications
Transactional communications. When you place an order, start a transfer, or register for training, we use your contact information to complete that transaction and send related notices. That use does not require a separate marketing opt-in.
Email marketing. We send promotional email only if you opt in, or as otherwise permitted by law for existing customers. You may unsubscribe using the link in the email or by contacting us.
SMS / text messages (including abandoned-cart reminders). We send marketing or cart-reminder texts only if you provide prior express written consent (for example, by checking an unchecked box and submitting your number). Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.
If abandoned-cart SMS is enabled, cookies or similar technology may record cart contents and inactivity. A cart may be treated as abandoned after about one hour of inactivity without purchase. We send at most one cart-reminder text per abandoned-cart event, and only to numbers that opted in.
4. How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run the business or as required by law, including:
- Payment processors. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Shipping and logistics providers.
- Website, hosting, e-commerce, and messaging vendors that process data on our behalf.
- ATF, FBI/NICS or a state point of contact, and other government agencies as required for firearm transfers, inspections, traces, and recordkeeping.
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by law, court order, or to investigate fraud or threats.
- Professional advisors (accountant, attorney, insurer) under confidentiality obligations.
- A buyer of the business, if we sell or merge, subject to this Policy or equivalent protections.
We may disclose information if you violate our Terms of Service or if disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect us, our customers, or the public.
Third-party sites linked from our store have their own policies. We are not responsible for those practices.
5. Firearm records and limits on deletion
Federal law requires licensed dealers to complete and retain ATF Form 4473 and related acquisition/disposition records for each firearm transfer to a non-licensee. Retention periods are set by ATF regulation (generally long-term retention of completed transfer records; shorter retention may apply to certain uncompleted transactions). We cannot delete or alter those records merely because you request deletion of “all personal information.”
NICS/POC checks are performed as required by law. We do not control the FBI’s or a state POC’s systems.
6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged into a session, remember cart contents, maintain security, and understand site performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; some store features (including the cart) may not work if you do so.
If we use analytics or advertising pixels, those providers may receive truncated technical data such as IP address and page events under their own policies. We will update this section if we add named tracking tools.
7. Security
We use HTTPS/TLS in transit and restrict access to personal information to people and vendors who need it. Payment-card data is handled by our processor and is not stored on our servers.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Retention
- Store accounts, orders, and ordinary customer-service records: as long as needed for the transaction, tax, warranty, and dispute purposes, then deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
- Marketing lists: until you opt out or the list is purged.
- Firearm-transfer and A&D records: for the period required by ATF and state law, which may be many years and may survive a website deletion request.
- Server logs: typically a short operational period unless needed for security or legal purposes.
9. Your choices and requests
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, subject to legal exceptions (including required firearms records and information needed to complete a transaction, detect fraud, or defend a claim).

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights that apply to you.
If a comprehensive state privacy law applies to you and to us (for example because of where you live and the volume of data we process), you may also have rights to appeal a denied request, to opt out of targeted advertising, or to obtain a portable copy of data. Tell us the state you reside in when you write.
10. Children
This site and our products and services are intended for adults. You must be the age of majority in your state of residence (and meet all federal and state requirements to purchase or receive a firearm, if that is what you are doing). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it except where a record must be retained by law.
11. International visitors
We are located in North Carolina, United States. If you access the site from another country, your information will be processed in the United States and may be subject to U.S. law, including lawful process we cannot contract out of.
12. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where the law requires a different form of notice or consent.
