1. What this warranty covers

Every custom firearm we build is covered by a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser. For the life of that purchaser, we will repair or replace, at no charge, any failure caused by a defect in our parts or our workmanship.

A defect means a flaw in the way we built the firearm, or in a part we installed, that causes it to fail in normal use. It does not mean ordinary wear, a worn finish, or damage that is not a defect.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser. It does not transfer if the firearm is later sold or given to someone else.

2. What voids the warranty

Any alteration of the firearm voids this warranty, except the addition of mounted accessories. Mounted accessories include items such as an optic, light, laser, sling, or bipod that do not replace a part the firearm needs in order to function.

The warranty is void if any working part is changed, substituted, or modified after the firearm leaves us. That includes, without limitation, aftermarket internal parts and any other part required for the firearm to function. Examples include a barrel, bolt, bolt carrier, trigger, fire-control parts, recoil spring, guide rod, slide, frame, lower or upper receiver, buffer, gas system, or a comparable part. This list does not exclude other functional parts.

Once the warranty is void, we have no further obligation under this page, including for a defect that existed before the alteration.

3. Firearms we did not build

A firearm we did not build is not covered by this warranty. That includes factory firearms, drop-shipped firearms, and firearms we only transfer for another seller. Those firearms are covered, if at all, by the manufacturer’s warranty. We will tell you how to contact that manufacturer. We do not administer the manufacturer’s warranty and we do not extend this lifetime warranty to those guns.

4. How to make a claim

Email info@tangodowntactical.com with your name, a description of the failure, and photos if you have them. Do not ship the firearm until we reply. A firearm comes back to us by the method we specify. It is not shipped to a residence as a return, and an NFA firearm is returned only by a transfer the law allows.

We will inspect the firearm. If the failure is a defect covered by this warranty, we will repair or replace the defective part or workmanship. We choose the remedy. Replacement parts may be the current equivalent if the original part is no longer available.

If the failure is not a covered defect, or the warranty was voided, we will tell you before any paid repair.

5. NFA builds

An NFA firearm we build is covered for defects in our parts and workmanship on the same terms. This warranty does not shorten an ATF wait, waive a required form, or authorize possession before the transfer is approved. See the NFA page.

6. Limits

This is a warranty for defects. It is not insurance, and it is not a promise that the firearm will never wear out or that it is fit for a purpose we did not build it for. To the extent the law allows, our obligation is limited to repair or replacement of the covered defect. We are not liable for the cost of ammunition, a missed hunt or match, lost time, or other indirect damages.

Nothing in this warranty limits a right that North Carolina law does not allow us to limit.
